The Foolishness of Trusting in Riches

Todays Scripture: Psalm 49:16

16 Do not be overawed when others grow rich,

when the splendor of their houses increases;

17 for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.

18 Though while they live they count themselves blessed— and people praise you when you prosper—

19 they will join those who have gone before them, who will never again see the light of life.

20 People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.

We often look at others wealth or seemingly great life and discount the goodness in our own lives. Trying to live up to a dream that doesn't exist, because it was not your dream but the visual that was given to you by another.

You see the great house someone else lives in and discount the home you have, or you see the materialistic things others promulgate and discount the wealth of mind, body and spirit you have fought so hard to balance.

We miss moments in our own lives, because we are looking at someone else's life and falling short from total fulfillment because we haven't reached someone else's expectations

Take heed that you cannot climb another's mountain, you cannot reach someone's height. Listen to what is in your heart and realize the gifts that GOD has given you and what you have to give to others.

An authentic heart is prosperous heart
